The Team O’Neil Rally School, located in Dalton, NH, has become the first organization to brand one of the stages at the New England Forest Rally.  The to-be-determined stage, or timed competitive section of road, will be called the “Team O’Neil Rally School Special Stage” and will be marked at the start and finish with the rally school’s banners.  The branded stage sponsorship also means that there is a cash purse of $600 for regional rally competitors (only!) for first, second and third place finishers of that stage.

For companies or organizations looking to support the rally and provide the added incentive of a cash purse to the top finishers of a stage, additional stage sponsorships are available.  A sponsorship can be a simple purse sponsorship, or it can included signage, advertising and additional exposure for the sponsor.  To learn more about these opportunities and their associated rates, please contact NEFR co-chair Ted Goddard at tedgcb@tds.net.  For advertising and additional event sponsorship opportunities, please contact Jessyca Keeler at jessyca@alignpartnerships.com.

To all TON Rally fans, racers, and participants, please read the following:

Due to a very long and snowy winter season we regret to inform you of the postponement of the Team O’Neil Rally.

Expected road maintenance costs due to the late snow and coming mud season within the town and adjoining landowner’s properties has required us to look forward to hosting the rally later in the year.

The Team O’Neil Rally appreciates your understanding of what nature throws our way and more importantly appreciates your long standing past support of the event.

Please check back here regularly, where we will post updates on the rally.  Meanwhile, don’t forget to begin making your plans to be a part of the New England Forest Rally this year, July 15-16.

Ford Racing has brought a small fleet of Ford Fiestas to Dalton New Hampshire. The company is partnering with Team O’Neil Rally School to create a Fiesta Rally experience.

“Ford Racing Fiesta Rally Experience will provide consumers with the opportunity to experience Fiesta in a true rally environment,” said John Felice, general manager, Ford and Lincoln Marketing.

“Our philosophy at Team O’Neil is to teach drivers how to master front-wheel drive in order to keep speed in the corners, accelerate through the corners, and use the brake to make a turn,” said Tim O’Neil, five-time U.S. and North America rally racing champion. “Fiesta is a strong, light, front-wheel-drive car. The addition of Ford Racing-developed performance parts including an rally suspension, underbody protection and roll bar gives us a great future with these cars.”

Team O’Neil Rally Splashes through Wet Weather

Maciek Przybysz Takes the Win

(Dalton, New Hampshire) – The forth annual Team O’Neil Regional Rally took place this Saturday May 8th in Dalton, New Hampshire despite ongoing showers. Competitors even faced a torrential downpour complete with thunder storm at one point around mid-day.

Adverse conditions are part of the game when it comes to rally, a motor-sport that takes place in all conditions and on all surfaces – rain, snow, ice, mud, gravel, or tarmac – rally drivers do it all. This range of driving expertise was called upon greatly on Saturday as the gravel and dirt gave way to sometimes slippery or muddy conditions.

At least five of the 19 competitors who entered failed to complete the rally as a result of mechanical problems or other vehicle damage sustained through this challenging course. This was the fate of local Franconia favorite, and Team O’Neil driving instructor, Wyatt Knox, whose car became dangerously overheated at one point and had to be taken out of the race.

At the end of the day it was Maciek “Matty” Przybysz who prevailed to take the overall win in his open class Subaru Impreza STi alongside co-driver Eric Hansen, a Team O’Neil driving instructor. Przybysz  is sponsored by Somerset Subaru of Somerset, MA, Team O’Neil Rally School and Car Control Center, and On a Limb Rally Racing Photography. Przybysz, originally from rally-crazy Poland, and now residing in Gray, Maine, has been competing in performance rally since 2004.

Placing second overall was Joey Kale of Essex, Vermont with co-driver Scott Nickerson, and placing third was Viorel Dobasu of Michigan with co-driver Aaron Crescenti.

This event was put on by the Team O’Neil Rally School and Car Control Center in Dalton, NH with help from the Town of Dalton and Chick’s Sand and Gravel who provided the roads, permits, and facilities needed to run the event which consisted of 10 stages and 45 miles of action including corners, crests, dips, and slides through the dirt and gravel covered roads!
